Established in 2021, Long Meadow Art Residency (LMAR) is a passion project of founders David Feldman and Jennifer Herman-Feldman. First and foremost, they are true lovers of art and artists. Their continued support of artists through all phases of their creative journey is unique, championing great artists who, for whatever reason, were underrecognized and providing support to artists eager to make the time to hone their craft and the galleries that support them.

As LMAR enters their third season of a fully supported artist residency, Jennifer and David are restating their mission to provide a home and studio space, supplies and an interactive board for artists to stop, breathe and contemplate. Purposefully, this is a zero-expectation experience for the artists during their residency. The goal is for artists to have uninterrupted time to reassess, experiment, and explore their creativity, try new things while in the most beautiful, serene setting.

LMAR awards residencies’ three months in duration with a stipend of $3,000 per month, and an art supply/transport budget of up to $2,500, provides the use of a car, a house and art studio. The residency offers mentoring, support, interaction from the local community and collaboration from a Board of Directors that includes successful artists, gallerists, art historians, and collectors (please see here for more information about our Board of Directors).

• Application Fee: No Charge

Eligibility:

• Minimum age: 25
• Current resident of the United States
• Valid Driver’s License

All applications will be reviewed by the board of directors. All applicants who move forward throughout the decision process will be contacted via email directly. Finalists will be contacted to arrange an in-person or remote studio visit request. Notification of residency awards will be made in June 2024 – via phone call and posted on the LMAR website/social media.
