Long Meadow's inaugural resident, Jamel Robinson is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist working in the mediums of abstract expressionist painting, sculpture, writing, and performance. His work ponders itself alongside maker and audience while serving as a time-stamp of the experiences shaping his life and creative practice.
Robinson’s works have gained him notoriety at home and abroad, attracting a variety of prominent collectors.
Jamel has most recently been celebrated by the New York Times and CBS News for his “Beauty from Ashes,” solo exhibition and teaching artist residency at the Hudson River Museum in New York. The body of work was curated in response to “African American Art in the 20th Century,” the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s traveling exhibition of select permanent works which opened at the Hudson River Museum at the start of Robinson’s residency in the fall of 2021.
Robinson lives and works in Harlem, New York City where he was born and raised.

Anna Berghuis (b. Baltimore, 1996) is a New York based visual artist. Berghuis’ work reckons with authenticity and performance of personality in a time of prolific image making and sharing online. Distortion and the unreal play a large role in her figurative paintings. Her paintings utilize methods of distortion through scale, space, and mono-printing to challenge and mirror contemporary image-making. She received her AB in Art History and Studio Arts from Princeton University. She has exhibited nationally in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, and Boston. She has been an Artist-In-Residence at the Vermont Studio Center and Long Meadow Art Residency. Her work is included in multiple private collections across the country.

Jenny Brillhart's studio practice often begins by organizing objects and imagery within found created spaces. She poses subjects that might be thought of as nothing into something-- objectifying the overlooked. Her painting routine, like the arranging of material, is a building process, material, repetitive and deliberate. The paintings absorb the geometry of her findings in the architecture from where they arise. Playing with space, matter, light, time and function, Jenny's paintings address philosophical issues of perception, beauty, and experience.
Jenny was born in 1972 to a crafty mother and en engineering father in Canterbury, New Hampshire. Her family lived near the historic Shaker Village, where she experienced the idea that function + process often = beauty. She graduated with a BA from Smith College, then studied at the Art Students' League in New York and recieved an MFA from the New York Academy of Art.
